Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 8/Episode 6


8.6 The Iron Throne
Daenerys declares victory and promises her Dothraki horde and the Unsullied that King’s Landing is just the beginning. Tyrion finds his siblings’ lifeless bodies under the rubble and is arrested for treason. He persuades Jon Snow to act immediately before everything is too late. He meets Daenerys at the throne room. She convinces him to stay by her side. He tells her that she’ll always be his queen before they lock lips and he plants a dagger into her heart. Drogon lets out a fiery roar melting the Iron Throne before clutching his mother’s dead body and flying east. Grey Worm and the Unsullied sail for Naath. The remaining houses of Westeros gather at King’s Landing and elect Bran as their new king; Tyrion, his Hand. Sansa negotiates for Winterfell’s independence and is crowned Queen of the North. Arya decides to explore what lies west of the continent. Brienne rewrites Jaime’s history. Bronn becomes Master of the Coin. Sam is chosen as the new Maester. Jon Snow is banished to the north where he reunites with Ghost.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 8/Episode 5


8.5 The Bells
Varys persuades Jon to take the throne as he arrives at King’s Landing, but his persistence ends in a fiery demise as Daenerys executes him for treason. Jaime is intercepted by the Unsullied trying to get in and is held prisoner. Tyrion sets him free and makes a deal with Davos to smuggle him to Essos, hopefully with Cersei in tow, to avoid the impending bloodshed. Distraught and agitated, Daenerys abandons all reason and chooses to rule based on fear, mercilessly striking the capital. As Drogon sets everything and everyone ablaze, the bell tolls signaling surrender. Consumed by rage, Daenerys lays waste anyway, sparing nothing and no one. Arya decides to no longer pursue Cersei and survives all the mayhem. Qyburn becomes collateral damage in the final death match between the brothers Clegane. Jon and his army fall back. Jaime is heavily wounded by Euron en route to Cersei but manages to kill his adversary. He reaches her as the Red Keep falls apart. Trapped in the dungeon with no point of exit, the siblings die locked in each other’s arms.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 8/Episode 4


8.4 The Last of the Starks
Mourning, what remains of the North celebrate their victory against death. Gendry is made a lord. Bronn irons out a deal with the Lannister brothers. Jaime sleeps with Brienne. Tormund leads the free folk back to the north. Sam and a pregnant Gilly stay behind to start a family. Sansa cautions against being hasty in the face of a depleted army but the Dragon Queen prefers to strike while the iron is hot. She begs Jon Snow to keep his identity a secret, witnessing how everyone looks at him with the same admiration she enjoyed in Essos, but not in Westeros. Jon tells Arya and Sansa, who tells Tyrion, who tells Varys. As the secret slowly spreads, loyalties splinter. Daenerys and her navy are ambushed by Euron’s superior fleet and recovering Rhaegal plunges to his death into the sea amidst a torrent of ballistas. Missandei is taken hostage by Cersei and is decapitated during the two queens' standoff, paving the way for an impending bloodshed King’s Landing has not yet seen before.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 8/Episode 3


8.3 The Long Night
A solitary figure in red approaches on horseback. The Dothraki raise their weapons as Melisandre sets their blades ablaze, illuminating the dark night. As they charge and fall, the Unsullied hold their ground. Daenerys and Jon mount their dragons and rain fire from above, but a blinding snowstorm soon envelopes Winterfell. In the absence of dragon fire, Melisandre lights up the trench, but the Wights easily break through via suicide. Lyanna Mormont falls defending the castle, taking down a wight giant with her. Beric sacrifices his life for Arya. Daenerys seemingly loses another dragon and a final Dracarys could’ve been the final blow, but the Night King emerges unscathed from the flames. Ser Jorah dies for his queen. The Ironborn protect Bran as he wargs into a murder of crows to nobody knows where. As Theon gives his life for Bran, Arya leaps out of nowhere to save her brother and ends up in a stranglehold by the Night King himself. Dropping her blade and catching it with her free hand, she lethally impales death himself, decimating his army.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 8/Episode 2


8.2 A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Jaime and his news of Cersei’s betrayal are received with hostility by Daenerys and Sansa. Tyrion tries to intervene but ends up endangering his position. It is Brienne of Tarth who vouches for the Kingslayer, enough for the Lady of the North to change her mind. He knights her later on. Gendry delivers Arya’s new weapon to her in the dungeon and the two end up sleeping together. Theon is welcomed by Sansa with open arms. Tormund and company finally arrive after surviving their encounter with the now undead Umber boy at the Last Hearth. They come with a warning that there isn't enough time before the Night King catches up with them. Bran volunteers as bait, knowing that the Undead will be looking for him to obliterate him, being the personification of mankind’s collective history. Jon tells Daenerys that he is Aegon Targaryen, giving him a legitimate claim to the Iron Throne. Before she can react, the bells toll signaling the arrival of the enemy.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 8/Episode 1


8.1 Winterfell
As Daenerys and Jon march into Winterfell, everyone is in awe of her dragons, but reluctant to treat her as their queen. Sansa extends her hospitality, albeit with veiled hostility. The Dragon Queen is well aware that she is not wanted, but she has a war to win and a kingdom to claim. Arya is reunited with Jon. As the remaining houses rendezvous in Winterfell, Euron sails to King’s Landing with a captive Yara. As he keeps himself busy wooing Cersei, Theon sneaks in to rescue his sister who plans to retreat to the Iron Islands to prepare it as a safe haven that no White Walker could reach. Cersei has her Hand give Bronn a bow as a present which she wants him to use to assassinate her brothers should they survive their adventures up north. Daenerys personally thanks Sam for curing Ser Jorah, but has to admit how she was behind House Tarly’s fiery demise when they refused to bend the knee. Agitated, he finally tells Jon the truth about his Targaryen lineage. Arriving in Winterfell, Jamie meets the blank gaze of Brandon Stark.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 7/Episode 7


7.7 The Dragon and the Wolf
As the grand meeting finally comes into fruition, so do unwanted reunions: Cersei and Tyrion; Euron and Theon; The Mountain and the Hound. As the wight emerges from his box and lunges at Cersei, they all realize that the threat is real. She eventually agrees to the truce and pledges her troops but has a totally different plan in mind, which upon Jamie’s discovery prompts him to abandon her once and for all. In Winterfell, Petyr Baelish’s crimes catch up with him as the Stark siblings reveal that they are the ones playing him all along. After Sansa comes up with a guilty verdict, Arya finishes him off with a quick dagger slash to the throat. Theon manages to rally his remaining men and vows to rescue Yara from Euron. Sam arrives in Winterfell, meets Bran, and they put two and two together regarding Jon Snow’s true lineage. The dead army arrives at the wall. The Night King, saddled on now blue fire-breathing Viserion’s back, attacks the wall, causing it to entirely collapse. Tormund and his gang flee as the undead march south undeterred.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 7/Episode 6


7.6 Beyond the Wall
Arya confronts Sansa about the letter she was forced to write ages ago in King’s Landing. Jon Snow and friends reminisce about the connections they have as they tread the perilous path north of the wall. The Hound sees the same mountain in his vision and warns everyone that they are near. They find their way to a White Walker convoy, carry out an ambush, and successfully capture one of the enemies. Sensing an upcoming larger attack, Jon orders Gendry to rush back to Eastwatch to send a raven to Daenerys informing her about their predicament. As the gang is cornered and all hope seems lost, she arrives to save the day, but loses one of her dragons to the Night King’s spear. Left behind, Jon Snow is rescued by Uncle Benjen. He finally agrees to bend the knee, while she vows revenge for what happened to one of her children. As the White Walkers haul the dragon’s carcass off the icy waters, one touch from the Night King reanimates him. Waking up from temporary death, his eyes now glow bright blue.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 7/Episode 5


7.5 Eastwatch
Daenerys intimidates what remains of the Lannister army to bend the knee. When father and son of House Tarly refuse, they end up as ashes on the ground. Jon Snow gets to tame Drogon. Tyrion and Varys are worried about their queen’s recent decisions that involve too much show of power. The impending threat of the White Walkers looms as Bran sees them approaching Eastwatch through his ravens. Ser Davos smuggles Tyrion into and out of King’s Landing. There he sees Gendry again after a long time who does not take much convincing to run away with him. The two Lannister brothers are temporarily reunited, but not in amicable terms. Jamie later learns from Cersei that she’s pregnant with his child. Sam steals some books and runs away with Gilly and her son. Ser Jorah finds his way back to Dragonstone disease-free and ready to serve. He sails with Jon Snow and Gendry to Eastwatch to capture a White Walker that they can deliver to Cersei and Daenerys. There they meet the Hound, and together they venture north of the wall.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 7/Episode 4


7.4 The Spoils of War
Bronn returns to assist Jamie in his military campaign. With the loot she amasses from the sack of Highgarden, Cersei pays off their debts to the Iron Bank in one installment. Arya comes back home to Winterfell and reunites with her siblings. She spars with Brienne and manages to disarm her. Jon Snow finds the Dragonglass reserves along with petroglyphs of the first men banding together to fight a common enemy. Daenerys promises to join his fight, if he bends the knee. Dismayed by the failure of Tyrion’s strategy, she takes matters into her own hands. Covering her Dothraki ground forces while saddled on her dragon’s back from high above, they incinerate Jaime’s army. Bronn gets to test King’s Landing’s new weapon on Drogon. As the injured dragon lands and Daenerys attempts to take out the large spear embedded in his throat, Jaime attacks them on his horse and almost gets cremated on the spot, had he not been pushed out of the way in time by Bronn, much to Tyrion’s relief who is watching from afar.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 7/Episode 3


7.3 The Queen's Justice
Jon Snow and Ser Davos lay their eyes on Daenerys’ dragons for the very first time. She orders him to bend a knee. He warns her of the descent of the dead army. Melisandre‘s desire to flee Westeros and sail off to Volantis is seconded by Varys, but she tells him that she’ll eventually be back for her death, as well as his. Euron delivers his prisoners to Cersei. She gives the last remaining sand snake a poisonous kiss and bounds Ellaria next to her so she can watch her daughter’s slow death. A representative of the bank of Braavos arrives at King’s Landing. Bran and Sansa are reunited in Winterfell. Sam makes headway and considerably reverses Ser Jorah’s Grayscale. As the Unsullied attack Casterly Rock, they discover that just a portion of the Lannister army is there, because the rest is at Highgarden. As Olena Tyrrell’s army is decimated, Jaime pours her a vial of poisoned wine. After drinking it, she reveals how she is the brains behind Joffrey’s untimely demise. She looks him in the eye one last time and asks him to tell Cersei.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 7/Episode 2


7.2 Stormborn
Sam finds Ser Jorah in their dungeon and attempts an untested procedure on him to cure his Greyscale. Arya finds out from Hot Pie that her brother is now King of the North. Daenerys questions Varys’ loyalty but he convinces her as to where his true allegiances lie. Melisandre arrives at Dragonstone with a prophecy and a proposed alliance. Jon Snow accepts the invitation but faces stark opposition from everyone, including Sansa. He appeases her by leaving the north under her command. As Cersei initiates her smear campaign in the south, Olena, Yara, and Ellaria rendezvous with Daenerys in the north. Tyrion’s plan is for the armies of Dorne and Highgarden to take care of King’s Landing while the Unsullied lay siege to Casterly Rock. Yara’s fleet is ambushed by Euron’s at sea on their way back and a battle ensues. The sand snakes are slaughtered and their mother is captured. As Euron holds his niece hostage with a sword pointed at her throat, Theon abandons ship, taking Daenerys’ hope for a formidable navy along with him.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 7/Episode 1


7.1 Dragonstone
Disguised as Walder Frey, Arya strikes the definitive blow to his house by poisoning all his remaining descendants at a banquet in the very hall where Catelyn, Robb, and Talisa were murdered. Meera and Bran seek refuge at the nearest wall outpost. Jon Snow and Sansa butt heads on how to handle the affairs of the north, a bone of contention that Petyr persistently attempts to exploit. Cersei sends them a raven ordering them to come to King’s Landing and bend a knee or suffer the consequences. Jaime outlines their bleak survival prospects in the absence of allies. The queen covets Euron’s Iron Fleet but finds it hard to trust him. He promises to gain that trust. Sam’s training is not as exciting as he expected it to be. He sneaks into the restricted area of the library and finds vital information they can use against the enemy. Daenerys along with her dragons and her crew dock at Dragonstone, the first Targaryen stronghold which sits on a mountain of dragonglass lethal to white walkers.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 6/Episode 10


6.10 The Winds of Winter
Loras stands trial and confesses, dedicating his life to the faith. As Margaery scans the venue, she notices Cersei’s absence and insists that they leave. Lancel is lured underground and finds two dying candles on a puddle. As the flame touches the green liquid, a fire ignites, kindling barrels of wildfire, which in turn pulverizes the Sept and incinerates everyone in it. Watching from his room, Tommen removes his crown and jumps out of the window. Arya murders Walder Frey’s sons, serving them to him in his pie, before she slits his throat. Olenna Tyrell, Ellaria Sand, and Varys rendezvous in Dorne to plot their Lannister revenge. Daenerys sails with Tyrion to Westeros, leaving Daario in Meereen to lead. Benjen leaves Meera and Bran at the wall, where he gets a vision of Lyanna giving birth to Rhaegar Targaryen’s son, a child Ned Stark introduces to the world as his bastard. Melisandre admits her crime, and Jon Snow banishes her from Winterfell. The northern houses rally behind Jon Snow, while Cersei is crowned Queen down south.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 6/Episode 9


6.9 Battle of the Bastards
The masters of Slaver’s Bay continue their naval barrage of Meereen. Daenerys takes care of the armada with her three dragons, while Daario leads the Dothraki horde in ending the Sons of the Harpy rebellion down below. The Greyjoys arrive with 100 hundred ships and a proposal. Snow and Bolton dissuade each other from going to war, but neither one backs down. Sansa argues that Rickon, being the true heir to Winterfell, is as good as dead in Ramsay’s hands. Ser Davos discovers the spot where Shireen was burned to death. Rickon is freed before the battle and asked to run to his brother. Jon rushes on horseback to save him, but comes too late as Ramsay shoots an arrow through the youngest Stark’s heart. Their forces are cornered helpless until Sansa arrives with Petyr, and the Knights of the Vale as reinforcements. Wun Wun the giant dies in the siege of Winterfell. Surrounded, Ramsay is beaten to a pulp by Jon Snow. Kept as a prisoner, he doesn’t live long, as Sansa exacts her revenge feeding him to his hounds.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 6/Episode 8


6.8 No One
The Hound kills the men who massacred the people in his village. Tyrion’s agreement with the masters of Slaver’s Bay backfires, but Daenerys returns in time to defend Meereen. The faith militants order Cersei to head to the Sept. When she refuses, they try to coerce her, but the Mountain beheads one of them with his bare hands. Tommen orders the banning of Trial by Combat, and announces that the trial of his mother and Loras will proceed as planned. Brienne and Podrick come to see Jaime so she can convince Blackfish to give up the castle and head north to join Sansa’s forces. She fails. Edmure Tully tells his forces to stand down and surrender his uncle. Brienne tries to bring him back to safety up north with them, but he chooses to die fighting for his homeland. Lady Crane comes home to a bleeding Arya backstage and patches her up. The Waif comes and kills the actress. Arya flees, lures her in a candlelit room, gets rid of said candle, and defeats her. She tells Jaqen she’s Arya Stark, not No One, and that she’s going back home.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 6/Episode 7


6.7 The Broken Man
Margaery keeps her act up bewildering her grandmother, but slips a piece of paper in her hand with the emblem of House Tyrell, proof that she is planning something. Jon Snow sways the Wildlings to support their war against the Boltons, but is having tough luck with Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey), the 10-year-old ruler of Bear Island. It’s Ser Davos who gets to persuade her to join their cause. Sansa isn’t convinced that they’ll win a battle with the little support they have. She sends a raven to Petyr Baelish. Jaime is sent to win back the castle the Freys lost to Blackfish. Yara assures Theon that sailing to Meereen and making a pact with Daenerys can get them the Iron Islands back. Arya bribes a sailor to get her back to Westeros. The Waif ambushes her, slashing her belly. Heavily wounded and bleeding profusely, she manages to escape. The Hound is alive and seeking refuge at a small community on the hills. When raiders come and murder everyone in the village, he picks up his axe and decides that peace is not really meant for him.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 6/Episode 6


6.6 Blood of My Blood
Meera trudges through the snow until she cannot go any farther, while Bran lays inactive getting more flashbacks. As the White Walkers catch up, a man on horseback comes to their rescue, who later reveals himself to be his long lost Uncle Benjen. Sam and Gilly make their way to Horn Hill. Awkwardness ensues as his father insults him and her at the dining table. He prepares to leave, but comes back for Gilly and her son, saying that all three of them belong together. As Margaery is set to begin her walk of atonement, Jaime and the Tyrells march in and a confrontation follows. They’re caught unawares as Tommen emerges from the sept, announcing his alliance with the High Sparrow. Arya poisons Lady Crane’s rum but their conversation convinces her that she’s a good person. She aborts her mission. On her way back to Meereen, Daenerys contemplates on sailing to Westeros with all of her army in tow. She disappears, comes back mounting Drogon, and rallies her new khalassar to give her the seven kingdoms Khal Drogo promised her.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 6/Episode 5


6.5 The Door
Petyr meets up with Sansa and pledges the support of the Knights of the Vale, but she blames him for the torture she endured with Ramsay. She and Jon weigh their options, and set out to rally more northern houses to their cause. Arya is given a second chance by assassinating a theater actress, but is sidetracked by a farce mocking her father. The Ironborn rally behind Theon, but he supports his sister Yara’s bid instead. Their efforts are in vain as Euron arrives and takes the salt throne. Brother and sister flee, taking all their best ships with them. Daenerys pardons Ser Jorah, but he insists that she send him away, revealing his greyscale. Tyrion employs the help of a red priestess to legitimize Daenerys’ hold of Meereen. Varys chastises her, but she reveals secrets of his past that makes him reevaluate his skepticism of the unknown. Bran’s trip to the past reveals the origin of the White Walkers. His stubbornness leads them right where they are at present, resulting in the Three-Eyed Raven’s death. Hodor also dies, holding the door.

Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 6/Episode 4


6.4 Book of the Stranger
Jon Snow prepares to leave Castle Black just in time when Sansa, Podrick, and Brienne come marching in. She wants to take Winterfell back, but he’s tired of fighting. Petyr manipulates the truth to his advantage, gains the upper hand, and mobilizes the Knights of the Vale to prep them for Sansa’ rebellion. Tyrion and Varys try the diplomatic approach with the masters of Slaver’s Bay, which does not sit well with either Grey Worm or Missandei. The Lannisters and the Tyrells settle their animosity against one another in a plan to seize power back from the faith militants. Theon reunites with his sister at the Iron Islands and supports her bid to be the new Ironborn ruler. Osha ends up dead trying to outwit Ramsay, leaving Rickon hostage. Ramsay then sends Jon Snow a threat which the two Starks just can’t ignore. Ser Jorah and Daario sneak into Dosh Khaleen to rescue Daenerys, but she refuses. On the day of her trial, she literally burns the house down killing all the Khals, emerges unscathed, and gains a new horde of Dothraki followers.
