Agatha All Along - Episode 9

9. Maiden Mother Crone

1750. A pregnant Agatha is about to give birth in the woods when Death appears for her son. The former pleads, but all the latter could promise is a little bit more time. Agatha and Nicolas move on from town to town, her killing witches and stealing their powers, the thought of his numbered days always hovering above her. When Death finally comes, Agatha takes advantage of the reputation she’s gained through her Ballad of the Witches’ Road to lure gullible witches into forming a coven with her, leading a fake attempt to summon the Road, then taking their powers by taunting them to attack her. This has been her modus operandi for almost three centuries until Billy shows up and wills the Road into reality. Present. Jen emerges from the ground and flies away from Westview. Agatha appears as a ghost to Billy and he tries to vanquish her to the afterlife but she adamantly refuses, telling him that she is not ready to face Nicolas. Instead, the two make a deal, a partnership whose main goal is to set out together in an attempt to find Tommy Maximoff.

Agatha All Along - Episode 8

8. Follow Me My Friend/To Glory at the End

Alice’s soul is accompanied by Rio to the afterlife. Death informs Agatha that she has to take Billy because he is an anomaly. His purpose for walking the Road, which is to summon his brother and find a body for him is not permissible. Agatha figures out that Death can’t take Billy and he must submit himself voluntarily. They strike a deal. The last trial makes Jen realize that it was Agatha who bound her power. An unbinding spell helps her regain it and she disappears from the Road. Agatha helps Billy visualize the last moments of the hex receding as he guides his brother’s soul to a drowning boy being bullied by his friends. Billy also disappears as he gets his wish. Agatha gets out of the Road and comes face to face with Rio, who is now taking her. Billy appears in all his Wiccan power and blasts Agatha, giving her power. A futile three-way showdown occurs. Agatha knows it’s pointless and surrenders to Death. Death, then, sets Billy free. As Billy recovers in his room, he realizes that the Road has been modeled after his own vision. Agatha’s voice surprises him from behind.

Agatha All Along - Episode 7

7. Death's Hand in Mine

Billy and Agatha continue their journey and end up at a castle for the next trial: a session of tarot reading in a room with a ceiling of falling swords. Lilia and Jen end up in a gritty tunnel after getting telekinetically thrown out of the Road by Billy. The two of them see the Salem Seven pass by en route to Agatha. Lilia’s powers as a seer causes her to live life non-chronologically, phasing in and out of consciousness from one random period of her life to the next. The two eventually reach the trial, where Lilia first subjects Billy to her tarot reading until she realizes that it is she herself who has to complete the task. She recognizes her purpose of joining the journey as her need to be part of a coven and her destination as death. She recalls Rio appearing to her at the tunnel and tells everyone that Rio is actually Death, the original green witch, which Agatha confirms. Lilia ushers the trio out of the room and back to the Road while she remains to sacrifice herself as the Salem Seven arrives, flipping the tower and causing all of them to “fall up” to the ceiling of swords.

Agatha All Along - Episode 6

6. Familiar by Thy Side

William Kaplan is a 13-year-old Jewish boy enjoying his bar mitzvah. The psychic invited to form part of the party’s entertainment, Lilia Calderu, reads his palm and is shocked because his lifeline is broken in two. The party abruptly ends as residents of Westview are told to get back home to safety as Wanda’s hex over the town starts to recede. William and his parents end up in a car accident, killing him. His body miraculously survives, but the first thing that comes out of his mouth as he regains consciousness is TOMMY. William soon begins hearing people’s thoughts and finds out about what really happened in Westview through Ralph Bohner (Evan Peters) whom he finds on Reddit and agrees to meet in real life. He discovers Agatha Harkness’ existence and profiles her online, deciding to snap her out of the spell she is under. He convinces her to take him to the Witches’ Road so he can get what his heart desires. Not power, but rather his brother Tommy, whom he can somehow sense but can’t manage to track down.

Agatha All Along - Episode 5

5. Darkest Hour/Wake Thy Power

Summoning Rio Vidal meant the door to the Witches’ Road was left wide open, allowing the Salem Seven to get in. The coven enchants tree branches and they fly against the backdrop of a blood moon. Descending back down to the Road, they flee to the next trial involving a Ouija Board. Agatha is visited by the vengeful ghost of her mother Evanora who tells her that she was born evil and she should’ve killed her the moment she gave birth to her. She wants the coven to move on and leave Agatha with her, but Rio vehemently disagrees. When Evanora takes possession of her daughter’s body, Alice’s protection witch power kicks in and blasts Agatha who absorbs her power in return, killing her. The trial ends when the spirit of Agatha’s son Nicholas Scratch intervenes. Back on the Road, Teen angrily berates Agatha about her betrayal. She tells him that he is just like his mother. Teen’s hands glow purple and he telepathically controls Lilia and Jen to pin Agatha down. All three drown in a quicksand while Teen is revealed wearing a crown  on his head similar to that of Wanda’s.

4. If I Can't Reach You/Let My Song Teach You

Sharon’s death means the coven is one witch short, so they try to summon a green witch. Much to Agatha’s surprise, and chagrin, it is Rio Vidal who appears before them. They continue their walk along the Road and are led to another house, which Alice reluctantly enters. They are transported back to the 70’s, her mom Lorna’s heyday as a rock star. Agatha and Rio engage in a conversation which the former intentionally broadcasts for everyone to hear, informing everyone of plans for betrayal by the duo. Teen plays a vinyl record which triggers a countdown, marking the beginning of another trial. Alice’s generational curse starts infecting everyone and she uses her skills as a protection witch to save them. Her mother’s biggest hit, a version of The Ballad of the Witches' Road turns out to be a spell, and they play it to defeat the curse. Teen is hurt by a shard of glass and almost dies, but is saved by one of Jennifer’s potions/spells. Agatha and Rio lean in for a kiss, but the former backs off as the latter tells her that the boy (Teen) is not hers.

3. Through Many Miles/Of Tricks and Trials

The coven is confused as to where to go until a beautiful house appears in the middle of nowhere. They enter and are subjected to the first trial which involves drinking wine. Sharon takes a big gulp followed by everyone except Agatha and Teen. Jennifer realizes that what they drank was poison, and Agatha not drinking her share is also revealed. They force her to do so as a 30-minute timer ticks. Effects involve palpitations, hallucinations, and eventual death. As they scramble to find the ingredients for Jen’s antidote, they are haunted by visions: Lilia’s, that of a girl dressed in a corset and death; Jen’s, that of the man who took her powers; Alice’s, that of her mother contemplating suicide; and Agatha’s, that of her infant child whom she traded for the Darkhold. The antidote potion is concocted in time, with an unconscious Sharon getting the last shot glass. A drawer opens to an exit as the house is flooded. Everyone ends up on the other side, back in the road, alive, except for poor Sharon who turns up dead.

Agatha All Along - Episode 2

2. Circle Sewn With Fate/Unlock Thy Hidden Gate

Teen tells Agatha his name but his mouth is censored while doing so. His explanation of where he came from also comes across as unintelligible to Agatha. He wants Agatha to take him to The Road so he can acquire power, which he thinks is what he is missing after all his amateur witchcraft training. The unlikely duo sets out to find a coven starting at a psychic’s shop. The two expected Lilia Calderu (Patti Lupone) to be a fraud, but she turns out to be a legit divination witch. She writes names after a vision, giving Agatha and Teen good leads. The next they approach is potions witch Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata) whose powers are bound and facing a potential class suit because of her cosmetics side hustle. Ex-police officer Alice Wu (Ali Ahn), now working as a mall clerk, is the protection witch they also need. The last on the list is a green witch, represented by a black heart. Agatha knows it is “Agent Vidal” so she recruits neighbor Sharon (Debra Jo Rupp) instead. The door to the Witch’s Road opens just as the Salem Seven arrive in Westview.

Agatha All Along - Episode 1

1. Seekest Thou the Road

Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) stars as Agnes O’Connor in her very own detective series entitled Agnes of Westview where she plays the role of a suspended cop who finds a dead Jane Doe deep in the woods. A certain Agent Vidal (Aubrey Plaza) whom she knows she hates but can’t remember why appears from time to time as an FBI agent interfering with her Jane Doe case. When they have a girls’ night out at her house, a Teenager (Joe Locke) breaks into one of the rooms and appears to take something. Agnes gives chase and catches him, but the reality around her begins to fluctuate as she interrogates him. He makes it clear to her that he is there to ask her about “The Road”. With the constant prodding of Agent Vidal, Agatha breaks free from Wanda’s hex and awakes powerless in Westview. She finds the Teenager locked in one of her cupboards before she is ambushed by “Agent Vidal” who turns out to be a witch with some telekinetic power who tells her that even though they can’t kill one another, she will inform the Salem Seven of Agatha’s whereabouts.
