Game of Thrones (HBO): Season 8/Episode 6

8.6 The Iron Throne

She convinces him to stay by her side. He tells her that she’ll always be his queen before they lock lips and he plants a dagger into her heart. Drogon lets out a fiery roar melting the Iron Throne before clutching his mother’s dead body and flying east. Grey Worm and the Unsullied sail for Naath. The remaining houses of Westeros gather at King’s Landing and elect Bran as their new king; Tyrion, his Hand. Sansa negotiates for Winterfell’s independence and is crowned Queen of the North. Arya decides to explore what lies west of the continent. Brienne rewrites Jaime’s history. Bronn becomes Master of the Coin. Sam is chosen as the new Maester. Jon Snow is banished to the north where he reunites with Ghost.

Everyone be, like, let’s be a democracy and select the most harmless one to lead us! Dude can’t even walk so we’re all safe. Woohoo. That pre-apocalyptic one night stand with Gendry boy must’ve been that bad for Baby Girl Stark to denounce dick for all eternity and decide to just become the Westerosi version of Dora the Explorer. Kudos to Little Dove, though, for staging her own Brexit. She be, like, Bran you my bro but if I’m not getting that fucking crown I’ll just make my own. She learned from the best. Somewhere in the lower echelons of hell, Little Finger is brimming with pride like the pervert pedo uncle he’d always been. The ending is not as satisfying as it should be. There were soap opera tropes everywhere, which is perfectly fine for us Filipinos, I guess? We’re used to that kind of shit. For those who are not happy, read the books. Maybe the author will give us the ending that we deserve. No show is perfect, after all. Whatevs, I’ll miss this show anyhow. Sepanx starts now.

“There's nothing in the world more powerful than a good story. Nothing can stop it. No enemy can defeat it. And who has a better story, than Bran the Broken. The boy who fell from a high tower and lived. He knew he'd never walk again so he learned to fly. He crossed beyond the wall, a crippled boy, and became the three-eyed raven. He is our memory, the keeper of all our stories. The wars, weddings, births, massacres, famines. Our triumphs. Our defeats. Our past. Who better to lead us into the future?” –Tyrion Lannister
