La casa de las flores: Episodio/Episode 5

Episodio 5: Dalia (Gratitud)

Episode 5: Dahlia (Gratitude)
Elena is put in charge of an event, the Bar Mitzvah of the son of one of the flower shop’s important clients, which sparks a misunderstanding between the sisters because Paulina thinks it’s just their mother’s way of punishing her. The client wants dahlias at the party but they are not in season. Elena asks Claudio for help and the two buy the flowers at the rival flower shop. Later, Paulina sabotages everything, even though Elena still wins their mother’s trust on top of her goal. Paulina visits their father in prison who tells her that he can't stand being there any longer. She takes his photo to edit and show to Micaela who thinks that he is in Japan. The DNA results arrive and confirm that Paulina is the illegitimate child. Upset, she looks for Bruno so they can leave the party but decides to stay and celebrate, perhaps to forget all about what she has just discovered. Elena gives Claudio a flower arrangement she made to thank him for all his help. Alone at the flower shop, the two end up sleeping together.

Jesus Christ, that effing meddlesome neighbor must be a private investigator, now isn’t she? She never fails to arrive at the most convenient moment to discover another new secret of the de la Mora family. In this case, it’s Roberta’s broken portrait that Elena threw outside. Even so, Virginia and Paulina’s impromptu lies never fail to impress me. They say that lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off. Well, mother and daughter are not in the nude, but to me they seem like expert liars no doubt. In other news, I’m right, Paulina is the illegitimate child and it looks like the doctor friend is her father, even more so after the revelation that he was her mother’s ex. Well, now that Elena and Claudio are sleeping together, it seems Dominique will be cast aside soon. I’ll miss him because he represents the unique point of view of the outsider, the unbiased opinion that observes the culture from the outside looking in. It’s something personal because once upon a time, that character was me.
