Episodio 15: Iris (Fe)
Contando con su nuevo hobby de cartomagia, Micaela quiere inscribirse en Talento México pero nadie de los adultos quieran acompañarla. El Cacas sale de la cárcel y es reclutado en seguida por Ernesto para unirse a la secta de la cual él forma parte. Después de una transferencia de dinero, él conoce finalmente a la líder del culto. El paquete que Virginia les dejó a sus hijos no contiene nada más que efectos personales y los tres deciden de enterrarlo en el patio para ya olvidar el pasado y seguir adelante. Sin embargo, Paulina tiene una misión: recomprar la florería de los hermanos Chiquis los cuales se la venderán solamente a un costo exorbitante. Desesperada, ella piensa en recuperar primero la otra Casa de las Flores para recaudar fondos pero el cabaret ya está por convertirse en La Casa de los Pollos. Mientras cena la familia llega Diego que les da un documento de la compra del cabaret lo que casi provoca a Paulina al borde de un ataque de nervios.
Pero qué tiene Diego, ¿neta? A mi me parece ser muy interesante si Virgina siguiera viva y que todo esto fuera una manera de castigar la familia de una manera indirecta. Sin embargo ese tipo de argumento se parece mucho a lo de Nosotros Los Nobles. Es que Diego tiene mucho poder así y la pregunta es, ¿por qué él? Hasta el momento esta subtrama se sirve del gran misterio de la temporada. Lo de Ernesto no me gusta para nada por la mera razón de que tal historia siempre acabe por ser una farsa religiosa con caricaturas quienes hacen nada más que predicar y forzarnos sus creencias anticuadas. Durante la primera temporada en su ausencia tenía Virginia un cuento más interesante y acabamos por ver una buena evolución de personaje. En el caso de Ernesto parece que los guionistas ya no saben qué hacer con él y por eso ya no hay un papel que pueda ser el corazón de la historia a menos que al final llegue a serlo Paulina. No es lo mismo sin Verónica Castro.
Episode 15: Iris (Faith)
Counting on her new hobby of card magic, Micaela wants to register for Talento Mexico but no adult would want to accompany her. Cacas gets out of jail and is immediately recruited by Ernesto to join the religious sect he belongs to. After a wire transfer, he finally meets the leader of the cult. The package that Virginia left her children contains nothing more than personal effects, and the three decide to bury it in the backyard so they can forget the past and move on. Nevertheless, Paulina has a mission: to repurchase the flower shop from the Chiquis siblings, who would only sell it back to them at an exorbitant price. Desperate, she thinks of getting the other House of Flowers first in order to raise funds, but the cabaret is about to become The House of Chickens. While the family is having dinner, Diego arrives and hands over a document of the cabaret’s purchase to them, which almost takes Paulina to the brink of a nervous breakdown.
But what’s with Diego, seriously? To me it would seem really interesting if Virginia were alive and all of this is just a way for her to indirectly punish the family. Nonetheless, such premise resembles that of Nosotros Los Nobles too much. It’s just that Diego has so much power and the question is why him? This subplot serves as the grand mystery of the show so far. That of Ernesto I don’t really find interesting for the mere reason that such storyline always ends up being a religious farce with caricatures who do nothing more than preach and shove their antiquated beliefs down our throats. During the first season, in his absence, Virginia had a more interesting story and we ended up witnessing a good character evolution. In Ernesto’s case it seems as though the writes just don’t know what to do with him and so there is no more role that can serve as the heart of the story unless Paulina eventually becomes it. It’s just not the same without Veronica Castro.
