Loki: Episode 6

6. For All Time. Always.
Loki and Sylvie reach the Citadel at the End of Time and are welcomed by Miss Minutes, who tries in vain to bargain with them. The duo finally get to know the puppet master behind it all, a guy referred to as He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors). After a concise review of the Multiversal War, he gives the pair two options: Rule the TVA on his behalf and preserve the Sacred Timeline; or kill him right then and there and unleash chaos in the Multiverse, his death ensuring the arrival of other variants of himself who are way less benevolent. Loki is persuaded. Sylvie is doubtful. Their differing opinions lead to a swordfight. Just as Sylvie appears to be finally convinced, she uses the time dictator’s TemPad and shoves Loki into a portal back to the TVA, right after they share a kiss. As she plants her sword in his chest, the timeline starts to branch out in unprecedented ways. Loki rushes to warn Mobius and B-15 about what has just transpired, but they don’t recognize him. He realizes that he has been sent to another universe’s Time Variance Authority.

Multiverse of Madness, come to daddy! Welcome to Phase 4. And all this time we thought Maximoff would be the culprit. From the looks of it, she might just be helping Strange with the impending cleanup after all. Remember when Mephisto was supposed to appear in Wandavision? Didn’t happen. Remember when Omega Red was supposed to appear in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier? Didn’t happen. Remember when a big villain would defo not be introduced in the final episode of Loki? Didn’t happen. My only complaint about how this all ended is how we never get to see Mobius riding a jet ski. But then again there are way bigger stakes at hand here. Perhaps the most exciting thing about it all are the endless possibilities lurking in the background that the MCU can now explore because of this. Just when you thought Marvel’s domination is slowly coming to an end as everybody succumbs to franchise fatigue, this is what we get. The future of the MCU is bright. Loki just made sure of that.

“Welcome to the Citadel at the End of Time. Congratulations. Y'all had an awfully long journey to get here. He's impressed.” –Miss Minutes
