32. There Are Worse Things Than Murder
Annalise is interrogated by the police regarding the fire, insinuating that she’s a suspect. A distressed Oliver rushes to the scene. She secretly hands him a phone and tells him to wipe it all clean. Two months earlier, Frank calls Annalise before killing the assassin she hired to trail him. Left without options, she asks Nate for help. She tells Wes that he can move in with her because she’s lonely, although he believes she’s just worried about him with Frank still on the loose. Wes claims that he’s already happy with Meggy (Corbin Reid), although Laurel is still sidetracked by all the Frank-Mahoney drama. Annalise and Bonnie later connive with her to find Frank. Annalise berates Connor for revealing his secret to their client just to motivate her to talk. He wins the case, but Annalise is suspended because of the flyer controversy going viral. She threatens to sue. Asher wants he and Michaela to go public, but she just wants to be friends with benefits. Their secret is revealed when a brokenhearted Connor crashes her pad unannounced.
Eh, what’s with Oliver? Quarter life crisis? It’s not you, it’s me? Cliché much. But then again, everyone has his own quirks. Is it just me, or is this season starting to feel more like a family drama now. The new legal clinic setup gives less exposure to the case of the week that they are handling, as opposed to last season’s format where there was the big case which ran alongside the smaller ones. In a way, I like it, because it seems all too personal now. I just hope there won’t be too much, although it seems just logical to go to that direction after two years of relationships evolving. As for the season’s main plot, it looks like Annalise is hiding something again. She’s always hiding something! But in all those instances she did so because she was protecting someone, even though they always make it appear that she’s just concerned about herself. I wonder if it’s the same case this time around. She’s been getting all the flak here for murders she didn’t commit. Perhaps it’s about time for her to give everyone a legit reason?
