25. What Happened to You, Annalise?
Annalise begs Wes to stop, calling him Christophe. Laurel takes the gun and makes it appear that she did it. Asher makes a statement to the police claiming his father was murdered. 2 weeks later, Bonnie takes Annalise home to recover. A woman knocks on her door, abandoning her baby, giving him to her. There is no baby. She’s just hallucinating due to all the painkillers she’s taking. Laurel takes care of Wes, while Connor and Oliver take Asher in, as they try to figure out how to effectively pin the crime on Catherine. Michaela’s short-lived relationship with Caleb goes south, him standing by his sister. Bonnie takes charge, but they are unable to keep Annalise off the stand. She apparently screws up, but works with Caleb in secret for an alternative plan. She manipulates Catherine into admitting that she shot her, AFTER she was drugged by Philip. Wes confronts Annalise about what she knows about his mother. 10 years earlier, a pregnant Annalise befriends Wes’ mother at a playground, watching him play ball.
So the baby is Wes? Or WAS Wes? There has always been this palpable mother and son link between Mama Annalise and Waitlist. It wasn’t clear then, but it is obviously being explored now. I think they are just setting this subplot up for next season or something. I just hope that it won’t come off as too contrived. I mean, come on. This is not a soap opera, guys. Moving on, the good thing is now they all have each other’s back, or at least that’s what we want to believe for now. Each and every one of them is so entangled in this huge web of lies now. If one of them abandons ship, they all go down. It makes you want to think about the show’s ending. With all the murders and cover-up so far, it’s not really a question IF but rather WHEN all of these would blow up right in front of their faces. There is also a big probability of pitting one against the other. After all, several of them are showing signs of mental instability. The question is, who goes down first? I guess we’re gonna have to wait and see!
