The
best thing should have been to stay in Singapore for another night and just go
to Legoland in the morning, and then straight to Senai Airport from there; no
need to stay in a hotel in Johor Bahru. Because of the high costs of
accommodation in Singapore, however, I had to cross the border earlier than
expected, and in the end only paid half the price of what I should have had I
stayed in Singapore. Warm Blanket Hotel, at least its rooms, reminds me Colour
Inn Shenzhen because of the unique personalized artwork on the room’s walls.
The only caveat is that the room does not have a bathroom, but rather you have
to share with everyone else.
The
location at Bukit Indah is a bit far from civilization, but walk and explore a
little and you will find a bus stop at the main road where some CW buses could
pick you up. Taxis are quite expensive, so plan accordingly. The room is
neither too small nor too big, which could be because of the absence of a
bathroom, as stated earlier. There is this small restaurant called Happy
Dessert House next to the hostel, their shaved mango ice is so yummy! Overall,
it was a good experience staying in this ho(s)tel. It is like a mix of Colour
Inn Shenzhen and Pods Backpackers in Kuala Lumpur.
