LEGAZPI: 02 – Dreams Inn and Café

My plan to go to Cagsawa Ruins was foiled, again by the weather as it started to drizzle when I got down the hill. I also realized that I forgot to buy a souvenir but I was already halfway through the long S-road and going back up was so not an option. I was able to get into a jeep going to Centro before the downpour. I got off at Pacific Mall and left the disposable camera containing my whale shark pictures for film developing. After that, I went out to look for an inn and immediately found one right in front of the mall: Dreams Inn and Café.

The rent was 500 pesos. The room was not that spacious and the bathroom tiles were filthy. The flush of the toilet did not work. It is tolerable enough if you are in a desperate need of a bath. There is an internet shop on the ground floor if you need a quick online fix. I asked how to go to Embarcadero. By tricycle, they told me. 35 pesos was the fare although it was not too far away from the inn.

That's rather small for 500 pesos. You can find inns that offer much better space and service at the same price.

Hi jonwilson. I know, so cramped. I think I just got down from Ligñon Hill when I checked in and so I grabbed the first accommodation I could find, lol.

That's too bad. Perhaps if you had more time on your hands and a number of people suggesting good lodging, you'd have a better experience in that area. But hey, desperate times call for desperate measures eh?

@Joshua Chua - Yeah, it's a bad habit of mine kasi. I really don't reserve accommodation prior to arrival. But the room served its purpose naman, and the location was ok. =)

Just to help you for your next visit, there are local listings on the internet that could help you find a better place. But no matter how disappointing the rent was, you said it served its purpose and the places within the vicinity was good. Keep on traveling!

@post free ads philippines - Thanks for the advice. I am definitely going back to Legazpi. I have yet to see the ruins and Mayon up close. She hid herself from me when I was there, lol. =)
