Encantadia (GMA): Kabanata/Episode 12

Kabanata 12

–Danaya

Episode 12
Posing as a nobody called Berdano, Hitano calls Alena “Akesha” and forbids her to go wandering about in the woods in the fear that someone might recognize her. She tells him that it seems as though the land beyond the mountains is calling her somehow. He reprimands her and says that the life they are living is the only reality that there is. “Lira” admires Amihan’s skills in battle and wishes that she could be just as good. Pirena offers to train her daughter, but Danaya thinks it would be best if she would learn from the Queen herself. The tension between the two sisters starts to escalate and Pirena is starting to lose her patience. Amanda decides to make more money out of Mila by sending her off to work as a maid, incidentally at Anthony’s house where the two get to meet again after 10 years. But it seems as though they do not recognize each other, although the feeling is still there.

Is it just me or is this episode rather boring? Not a lot of things happen, which is a far cry from the previous episodes. The scenes in the human world are still riddled with cliché’s, and Marge is really annoying, which probably means that the actress portraying her is doing a good job. There seems to be no other event in the human world aside from Mila’s continuous torture from the hands of all the evil women she could encounter there. Meanwhile, Mira gets to live the good life and has the matching attitude to boot. She has definitely grown up feeling entitled and hard-pressed to be queen, in short, pretty much like her mother Pirena. Like mother like daughter! It is good that Danaya is still by Amihan’s side, because if she wasn’t, then Amihan’s downfall would be rather quick because she is plain stupid. The antagonistic relationship between Pirena and Danaya has really been one of, if not the most notable subplots so far.
